Welcome to DukanMate ("we," "our," or "us"). DukanMate is a Point of Sale (POS) billing application designed for small and medium businesses to manage their billing, inventory, staff, and customer data.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the DukanMate mobile application (the "App"). By using our App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Business Information: Shop name, address, contact number, and GST/Tax registration number entered in Settings.
- Staff Information: Name, email, and role of staff members created by the shop owner.
- Customer Information: Customer name and mobile number (optional) added during billing.
- Product & Inventory Data: Product names, prices, quantities, barcodes, and categories.
- Transaction Data: Billing records, invoices, payment methods, and amounts.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for app functionality.
- Authentication Tokens: Session tokens for maintaining your login state.
2.3 Information from Third-Party Services
- Google Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the DukanMate App's features:
- To create and manage your account
- To process billing and generate invoices
- To manage your inventory and product catalog
- To generate business reports and analytics
- To manage staff accounts and permissions
- To store customer records for repeat billing
- To provide customer support
We do NOT: Sell, rent, or share your personal data or business data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase cloud infrastructure, which provides:
- Data encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure authentication via Firebase Authentication
- Role-based access control (shop owners can only access their own data)
- Regular security updates and monitoring by Google
Each shop owner's data is isolated and can only be accessed by the owner and their authorized staff members.
5. Camera Permission
DukanMate requests camera access solely for barcode/QR code scanning to quickly add products to the inventory or during billing. Camera data is processed locally on your device and is never stored, transmitted, or shared.
6. Data Sharing
We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly share invoices via WhatsApp, email, or other apps using the share feature.
- Service Providers: Google Firebase (for data storage and authentication). Google's privacy policy applies to their services.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you can contact us at the email address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data via the Settings screen
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Portability: Export your billing and inventory data
9. Children's Privacy
DukanMate is a business application not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App and on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
